Franchot Park is a park that speaks volumes about Olean...it has a little bit of everything: a wading pool, basketball courts, picnic pavilions, playground, horseshoes and ball field...but more importantly its got a feel that sticks with one their whole life. Its a place where kids from all walks of life get to celebrate a warm summer day in the cool spray of the pool or fly a kite in the spring breeze.
I learned to swim in the pool when I was in 3rd grade and I still remember the wonderful sensation of floating. I regularly took my very young children there to cool off on a hot day when nothing else seemed to make them happy.
