 Spring is always unpredictable around here. There was snow on the ground the day before these were taken. But a week ago Sunday turned into an incredible spring day:

Though many people had envisioned a recreational path being constructed along the Allegheny River over the years, it had remained just that -- a vision. However, in 1992, Joseph Higgins, of Abbott Welding, set his sights on making it a reality. Mr. Higgins organized an effort to have the Allegheny River Valley Trail constructed, and he found a consensus of support.
The Trail has become a multi- season staple of the recreational diet of people in the area and the center of outdoor life in the Allegany and Olean areas. Its beautiful & peaceful and you are likely to meet someone you were hoping to talk to.
